With a BA (Hons) degree in Economics and French (University of Kent), a Licence in Economics (University of Grenoble), Mary is a fluent French speaker and also a qualified CIMA accountant.

Her commercial finance career spanned 12 years between London and New York, with British Airways plc, Arcadia Group plc, Park Avenue Healthcare Management, New York and Spectris plc. Mary retrained as a teacher, responsible for leading mathematics at a successful, rapidly growing primary school.  Following promotion to senior leadership, Mary led on whole-school assessment.  She joined Holdsway in 2016.

In addition to being a Partner at Holdsway, Mary is a BACP-accredited counsellor, holds an MSc in Psychology, and is currently studying for a doctorate in counselling psychology and psychotherapy. She has a private counselling practice and works as a psychologist within an NHS Community Mental Health Team. Her pro-bono roles have included counselling people with addictions,  club welfare officer at Mayford Athletic Football Club and an independent auditor of charity accounts.  In her spare time, she runs, goes to Body Pump classes, listens to podcasts, and walks her very lively labrador!
